It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Acute Gastritis, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Stomach Cancer.
Treatment options for stomach cancer depend on the stage and location of the cancer. Surgery is often recommended to remove the affected portion of the stomach. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy as well as targeted drug therapy are other treatment options. An upper endoscopy is performed to diagnose stomach cancer. A sample of any suspicious tissue is taken out and sent for a biopsy to confirm diagnosis.
