Personality disorder is a mental health disorder that has long term patterns of thinking and behaviours that are dysfunctional and inflexible. This causes distress and an inability to function in everyday life. There are different categories of personality disorders, cluster A disorders are those that result in odd thoughts and behaviours, cluster B disorders are those that are dramatic and impulsive behaviours, cluster c disorders are anxious and fearful thoughts and behaviours. Symptoms of personality disorders include strange or erratic behaviours, suspicion or distrust, extreme mood swings, taking risks, difficulty with relationships, school or work and the need for instant gratification. Personality disorders can be misdiagnosed as any of the disorders that full under this classification.
