It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Crohn Disease, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Genital Herpes.
Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus. Symptoms include pain and itching small red bumps or tiny white blisters, ulcer and scabs. Genital herpes can be misdiagnosed as chlamydia, trichomoniasis, syphilis, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, and urinary tract infections. If not treated due to misdiagnosis, genital herpes can lead to other sexually transmitted infections, bladder problems, meningitis and rectal inflammation.
