It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Hives, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Thrush.
Thrush or a yeast infection is a fungal infection caused by candida albicans. It causes symptoms such as itching and irritation around the head of the penis and under the foreskin, burning sensation while urinating, thick white odor free discharge with cottage cheese appearance or watery discharge, difficulty pulling back foreskin and an unpleasant smell. It can also appear in areas such as the skin of the armpits, groin and between the fingers. It is not a sexually transmitted infection but its symptoms can be easily mistaken for an STI such as herpes, or trichomoniasis, an allergic reaction or small cuts from shaving.
