It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Lichen Aureus, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Discoid Eczema.
Discoid eczema causes raised, disc-shaped rashes with a well-defined boarder that are itchy, flaky and may weep and crust over. It is a chronic condition and the rash can last for months to years and is likely to reoccur. It can be misdiagnosed for ringworm, psoriasis, lichen aureus and contact dermatitis.
