It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Neuronitis , when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Meniere's Disease.
Meniere’s disease has no cure but there are variable treatment options to reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks. Medications are given for vertigo as well as hearing aids to assist with hearing loss. Surgery is recommended in severe cases. Diagnosis is confirmed by checking medical history including episodes of vertigo, hearing loss and ringing in the ear. Tests to rule out other conditions are usually performed as well.
