It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Periprostatic Vein, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Prostate Cancer.
Prostate cancer is the third most common type of cancer worldwide. It presents with symptoms like frequent urination especially at night, blood in the urine, erectile dysfunction and discomfort or pain when sitting. These symptoms are shared with another condition called benign prostate hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) which commonly causes misdiagnosis. Misdiagnosis through failure to perform appropriate tests can lead to a delay in treatment, which allows the prostate cancer to spread to other organs. If this happens then survival is very unlikely.
