It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Pharyngitis , when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Tonsillitis.
Tonsilitis is inflammation of the tonsils caused by a viral infection. Symptoms of tonsilitis include red and swollen tonsils, white or yellow patches on the tonsils, sore throat, painful swallowing, fever, bad breath, neck pain, headache, scratchy voice, and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. Tonsilitis is misdiagnosed as pharyngitis, and strep throat.
