Glandular fever also known as infectious mononucleosis is an infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. Symptoms include sore throat, fever, fluid seeping from the tonsils and pharynx enlarged lymph nodes, enlarged spleen and sometimes jaundice. Glandular fever can be misdiagnosed as viral pharyngitis, and streptococcal pharyngitis.
